Turning twenty

I have to say this is a classic! I have heard so much about this pattern and I have to admit this was my first Turning Twenty ever it is  THE BEST PATTERN EVER. I need a semi speedy project for Christmas and I always try and sew a quilt for the family member I have for Christmas. I have been doing picnic quilts for the last few members and I hadn't made this family one. I used a variety of homespun fat quarters from my stash and a couple of canvas drop cloths. I love the drop cloth because it is nice and heavy and is great outside. I do prewash the drop cloths when I use them in quilts like this but for me it gives me a break from denim. I didn't prewash the homespun and I will let you know later if that was a bad decision. I did choose to use a little bit darker thread than I would have regularly chosen, my point in doing this was to give the back some variety and help hide dirt after all this is a quilt that is made to be used outside. Another thing that I would like to say is I did quilt this with an all over pattern In my opinion it really would have been a waste to quilt this custom it is going to be used and washed and hauled around and I didn't want it to feel unusable. Here is a close up of the quilting:
